The main conclusions of the final report of the Riots Communities and Victims Panel focus our attention in what should be done to avoid future riots. For a social change it’s necessary to have communities that work for the society as a hole and for the individuals to feel part of this society. According to the final report it is needed to pay attention to six key areas, the combination of which will build social and economic resilience in communities.

The first one is children and parents. There are many communities which think that rioter behavior could occur because of poor parenting. I absolutely agree that there have to be taken some measures to ensure that all kids get the right support, control and guidance from their parents, because only in that way they will have that chance for a good future. The young families who don’t have enough life experience need some help in raising their children. So it would be right if the Family Nurse Partnership program be extended initially to all first time mothers under eighteen, and then to all those under twenty. All children need a positive role model in their lives, so the fathers should be also involved in raising their heirs. The public services have to focus not on individuals but on the families which need help.

The second key area is building personal resilience. It’s not good for the young people to express sense of hopelessness and to not develop a character. While there are people outside, just complaining, nothing will change. Only these who express optimism, self-sufficiency and belief have better chances. The young persons with character, self-discipline and resilience could make the most of their lives.
