Overview:

Sundance, Tribeca, and now Howard University Springfest Film Festival. Film has the power to move, motivate, captivate, and inspire the masses of audiences who flock to them each year. The often-underrated art form is much more than the words “Lights, Camera, Action!” - it is a multi-billion dollar industry that marries the worlds of business and creativity like never before.

The two-day film fest will feature a short film contest designed to engage and premiere college students who have a talent for storytelling. Along side the contest will be screenings of long and feature length independent films from more established individuals in the industry. The event will also feature workshops and panels discussing topics of women in film, the finance side of movies, and new trends like the emergence of original web content just to name a few.

Goals:

Through this film festival, it is our goal to showcase the young emerging talent, give knowledge of the industry, and provide an opportunity for people outside the traditional film world to gain access to it within our two-day event.

Strategies:

• 7 Video Concept Series centered around “The 7 deadly sins”. Each video will explore a sin, that will also promo the film festival to the student body

• Local Area College Students

• Film Enthusiast in the DC area

Key Target Media:
