Causes of Global Warming

Today we are seeing the impacts of climate change around the globe, rising sea levels, thunder storms, high floods, heavy snow before winter in certain countries. There are also natural mechanisms for variation including changes in solar activity, variations in the Earth's orbit, Tsunami and volcanic activity.

First of all, pollution is caused by greenhouse gases in atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapour, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. Thus, greenhouse gases greatly affect the temperature of the Earth.

Furthermore, Deforestation is one of the main causes of global warming. All trees in an area are removed and converted to high rise building, factories and housing estate. The removal of trees without sufficient reforestation has resulted in damage to habitat, biodiversity loss and dryness. It has adverse impacts on pollution of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Deforested regions typically incur significant adverse soil erosion and frequently degrade into wasteland.

Aerosol is also another bad cause of global warming. Aerosol is a suspension of fine solid particles or liquid droplets in gas. For example, clouds and air pollution such as smog and smoke. Chemical spray like pesticide was used in modern cropping instead of organically grown. The Earth atmosphere contains aerosols of various types and concentrations like dust, ashes, pollens, spores, bacteria and viruses. Aerosols can be found in urban ecosystem in various forms such as cigarette smoke and mist from aerosol spray cans.

In conclusion, all the above factors were caused by inhumanity, inconsiderate and selfishness of the people. I hope we can all help to overcome the global warming by applying the 3R’s which is recycled, reused and reduced. Deforestation should be restricted and reduce to make a greener and cleaner global.
