Answer the following questions (use MS Project Help, if necessary):

1. What is the difference between a main summary task and a summary task?

A main summary task is the name of the actual tasks and all the summary tasks are subtasks of the main task. When the summary tasks are done, then the main task is done.

2. On the View Tab, what does the Outline button with plus and minus signs do?

The outline button lets you show and hide subtasks. It makes it a lot easier to navigate through the main tasks and gives it a cleaner look when the subtasks aren’t needed.

3. What is a milestone?

A milestone is a reference point that marks a major event in the project and it’s used to monitor the project’s progress.

4. What predefined report can you not make changes to the header and footer?

You can’t make changes to the header and footer in the project summary.

5. Give a real-world example of

a) A successor task requiring lead time

When making spaghetti, you want to start cooking the spaghetti with a little lead time before starting the sauce. That way they finish at the same time and one doesn’t get cold while waiting for the other to finish.

b) A successor task requiring lag time

When eating spaghetti, you want lag time between putting it on the plate and eating it. Without lag time, you could burn your mouth eating it right away.
