Recent college graduates face some of the most important choices of their lives as they now have graduated and seek employment in their given fields. For many this is one of the most important decisions that they will make in their lives as their future career will affect their life choices and decisions. Unfortunately, a scenario such as the one Benji is now facing is becoming more and more prevalent. As a new graduate, Benji is now faced with the dilemma of taking a well-paid employment opportunity to begin his career or turn the opportunity down because of the company’s compromised integrity. The recruiter has used his persuasiveness to make this employment offer very appealing emphasizing the lucrative salary and the opportunity for promotion. As a new graduate this is very appealing to Benji, as it encompasses what most recent graduates hope that their first employment opportunity would be considering he has no professional experience to accompany his education. If a decision was to be made based on salary and the opportunity for advancement, it would be beneficial for Benji not to decline this employment opportunity. However, because of the compromised integrity that Benji has witnessed personally and through the communication from the recruiter, I would suggest and advise Benji to not sign the contract.

In an era where integrity seems to be fading and dishonest tactics seem to be on the rise Benji has to take a stand and make this decision on the basis of honesty and high ethical regards. According to Kubasek (2012), business ethics is the study of what makes up good and bad conduct as related to business and activities. Business ethics are shaped by the code of ethics that the individual employees possess in the business. In this case the business ethics of New Gens Health Science is dishonorable and the values and beliefs that it possesses are great examples of what Benji should avoid in starting his career.
