What Would You Do? Groupon Case Study

If I was the CEO of Groupon I would make it my main goal to get the business to international my main target. Obviously, Groupon is the frontrunner in this industry and to stay that way it is going to need to attack the international market before competitors can beat them to it. Every company has a time when they need to decide whether it is going to go international and how they will do it if they do. For Groupon, the company definitely should go international, as for the time to go, the time is now. The company is already a billion dollar company, they have the resources to and money to do it so why not now and beat most competitors to it.

The process of how to do it can always be an interesting subject for any business looking to take their operation to an international scale business. This transition in a business like Groupon should not be too difficult in my opinion. They have already obviously perfected the type of business they are involved in. With that success they should be able to convince businesses in large international cities that they are the company to choose. The billion dollars that they’ve made in such a short time speak for themselves. Obviously, the business should look into traditions and customs of the countries to see which businesses are most successful but other than that Groupon needs to keep on doing what they have been. The old saying goes “don’t try to fix something if it isn’t broken,” and obviously Groupon is far from being broken. Groupon needs to take their billion dollar formula of business and use it all over the world.
