American Idol is a well known reality show in the United States of America. This show got millions of people hooked to their T.V's every week. For many years, this realty show always topped the ranking when it comes to how many viewers they got. It even got me hooked when I lived in the States for six years. However, I lost interest after the third season for many reasons. The brand awareness is doing more than great since everyone knows about this show. So, in my opinion, it’s the repetitiveness of the show that can make me and other viewers get board quickly. Therefore the marketers for American Idol need to quickly figure this problem and put in a good plan to regain the people who lost interest.

We all love the auditions part, but when they actually go to people in the finals, ratings would get low. Unless marketers take a decision to add something to the show so those audiences stay hooked. For example, last season the added real singers in the judging panel and to me that was really interesting to know what real singers in this world think of the people auditioning.

However, with this decision marketers need to be careful because adding a judge to the mix might not be a wise move to many viewers since they are used to the three from the late seasons. An alternative can be like after the auditioning part; they can let the people who got through actually sing songs that are up to date. I mean if after the auditions, people who got through are singing songs that I am into right now, I would keep watching without any hesitation. But then again with that comes a lot of factors that might lead to a law suit with all the copy-right music and all the money that needs to be paid to the makers of the songs.

Another thing, I would think of when it comes to marketers making or taking decisions for this show is the business to business strategy. American Idol is huge in the States; therefore, big companies would...
