Many young cultures are portrayed negatively because they are labelled as subcultures by society. There subcultures have led to stereotypes including, bad behaviour, violence and in fact are associated with gang cultures, especially in the media as the Guardian state “Negative reporting causes a greater fear of the issue than the actual reality of the reported problem and enhances stereotyping” Life without something to inspire you and move you to feel emotional joy is a life without inspiration and hope and enjoyment. Youth culture is inspired by their own personal view on society which is displayed in street walls, prints and canvases. Youth groups need more than meanings to live a life of fulfilment and happiness, they need to be more accepted and appreciated by their art and many are inspired from different artist that inspires them to take the right path in life, changing their perception of society. Graffiti helps youths to deal with their problems and express their feelings freely without having any criticisms from society.

This inspires me in a creative way and started to begun looking at Robert Rauschenberg, his artwork resolves around freedom, combining different pieces together, producing abstract ideas. Rauschenberg was considered the enfant terrible of the art world in the 1950s, a reputation cemented by his symbolic erasure of a drawing by William de Kooning in 1954. Despite his deep admiration for Abstract Expressionist artist, he disagreed with many of their convictions. His wok is very different to other artist of that time which makes it more spontaneous and his collage is full of abstract ideas that are expressed vibrantly.
