Decisions surround us every day. From choosing what to wear in the morning down to what time to sleep at night, we make decisions that we sometimes don’t even notice. However, not all decisions can be chosen quickly. There are those times when we are confronted with choices that we know will change our lives forever. There are times when the decisions we make constitute an important part of who we are, of what we are to others, here and now. There are times when we have to think about what we will choose over and over again, because in the future, we don’t want to end up regretting our actions. Even I have had my experience with those kinds of choices.

First, though, let me tell you more about who I was when I made this kind of decisions. When I had this kind of experience, I was in my graduating year in my old grade school, Miriam College Grade School. I didn’t have that many friends I could chat with, and even less that I could trust my secrets with. In the end, I was usually left alone, only called for once in a while in case they don’t have anyone else to talk to, or because they just happened to finally notice that I’m around. In simple words, I was a loner. Even worse was the fact that did not have a lot of memories that I could treasure, so I did not really have much of a connection to other people. But then, that’s when that moment came up.

Naturally, during my graduating year, I was taking high school entrance exams. I always thought that even if I passed other schools, I would stick to where I am now. I didn’t like change, because I wasn’t good at dealing with it. It would also take me a lot of time to get used to a life so different from what I was used to living. Besides, I never really thought that I would pass my entrance test to other schools. Until one day, a phone call came.
