Thinking Critically Simulation Summary
Credenhill Industries, based on Lansing, Michigan, offer mobile telephony and have subsidiaries that sell cola and retail consumer electronics. Linda James is the Credenhill Industries’ CEO. I applied for Credenhill’s innovative Thorough-Cred management development program that selects Credenhill’s brightest managers under Linda’s supervision. Three of Credenhill’s the most talented managers who are in charge of different Credenhill businesses for 5 months. Linda evaluates their performance at the end of every quarter and the award will be given to the best one. Under this program, I will take over as Store Manager of a Credenhill consumer electronics store in Dallas, Texas for 5 months and my two competitors, one is assigned to manage a company owned bottling plant of the cola subsidiary, and the other to head a customer response center for the mobile telephony operations. I need to apply all my knowledge about decision-making tools and techniques, critical-think components, reading assignments in this race to win the prize.
At the beginning of the race, my head is full of numerous issues from the electronics store I have taken charge of such as the falling sales, the threat of legal action from the city council for violating local disability access laws and so forth. Some issues may be fallacies, symptoms of problems, or real problems. I must identify the real problems facing the store and evaluate them in terms of their urgency and criticality, based on the information, which provide by Linda.
