Organizational culture, behavior, diversity, and communication are the key functions to a successful organization/business. There are many different factors that managers must take into account when running a business. First and foremost, every organization must follow the four functions of management; planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. By utilizing these functions the organizational culture and behavior will be set up for success.

“Organizational behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact those individual, groups, and structures have on behavior within organizations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving organizations effectiveness.”(Ch.1).The main function in Honeywell relates to organizational behavior is instilling values, mission, and creating a happy work environment. Honeywell has four values; Safety, Quality, Delivery, and People. By leveraging these values to be the forefront of their everyday business, they are developing the associates’ behavior to understand that the customer always comes first. Honeywell’s mission is “We are accountable for delivery of our products and services right time, on time, every time. We will satisfy customers, comply with requirements and continually improve our organizational capabilities, processes and systems”. The success of this organizational behavior is clear by looking at the success of their business.

“Organizational culture is the system of shared actions, values and beliefs that develops within an organization and guides the behavior of its members.”(Ch.16) There are two functions of organizational culture; external adaptation and internal integration. “External adaptation deals with reaching goals.
