The most important and possible health hazard that comes to my mind when I think of adolescence is the issue of bullying. During the past few years many teachers, parents, and even young kids have tried to shed lights on this serious matter and spread the word about how to prevent it. Despite their effort, unfortunately bullying is still happening every day in almost all of schools. The problem that exists in our world and is helping the issue of bullying to still happen is the fact that not that many people know who to first identify it and second how to deal and respond to it. If more teachers were more educated about this issue and were more aware of their surroundings in classrooms then fewer kids would be suffering from getting bullied by other classmates and students. Another problem with bullying is that the person who is doing the bullying is not really aware of the damage that he or she is doing to the others.

In order to have a better understanding of issue of bullying, one first need to understand the definition of this act. According to the text, bullying can be defined as “repeated, systematic effort to inflict harm through physical, verbal, or social attack on a weaker person” (pg. 397). The second step is to be able to identify it, which starts by understanding and being familiar with different types of it. There are four different types of bullying, which can explained as verbal, cyber bullying, physical, and relational. Being able to truly understand all these different kinds and have a good understanding of the meaning of the definition is a key to identifying bullying in any situation and being able to come up with a suitable solution to respond it. Another fact about bullying is that, it is different from having casual verbal fights that any adolescent might have with their fellow classmate or other students. What makes bullying distinct from having a normal and casual verbal complication is the fact that bullying doesn’t only happen for once....
