06.05 Cold War - Honors

1. The relationship between the U.S. and Cuba was extremely tense. The Cuban Missile Crisis created many days where the relationship between the U.S and Cuba was very clear to everyone, it was tense and the cause of it was the nuclear arms. Cuba did not want to get rid of their weapons as the U.S. was attempting to get every single of the atomic bombs away from Cuba. In other words, the U.S. tried many tactics to get Cuba to give up their Nuclear arms, but Cuba refused and this created tension as many people anticipated another war.

2. For many decades, the trade embargo has been increasingly tightened with each successive president. However, just recently, President Barack Obama has decided that the U.S. should end its trade barriers and resume the travel between America and Cuba. The relationship that is being developed between America and Cuba is become sweeter as America attempts to establish a good gesture after the over 50 year feud between the two.

3. Our U.S. society can have some negative and positive effects about the current relationship between America and Cuba. A positive effect may that due to the popularity of the news, our society may be alright with the current relationship, that way, agreeing with the relationship will impose an easier future for both countries. Another positive effect can also be that since the current relationship is becoming less tenseful, our society can be at peace with making good gestures to Cuba. However, a negative effect can be that some part of our society may still have some trust issues with Cuba and disagree with the current relationship. Another negative effect would be that our society would likely only take advantage of this current relationship to actually legally or easily travel to Cuba.
