ABSTRACT

In modern age where computer has become a way of life, it is evident that some of the country’s institutions still do not adapt the high technology. Particularly in most medical facilities, daily clinic transactions are still done on paper. We all know that modern clinics are now operating at great pace striving to serve as many patients as possible with the best of their abilities. Computerized system can replace the discrepancies in the processes that were once completed by hand while providing the companies with more precise data. A computerized system can hold more files in an organized way rather than a manual system. It also minimizes the time in finding patients information and billing.

One of the popular computerized systems is the Patient’s Information and Billing System. There has been increasing interest in the area of Computerized Patient Information and Billing System and more birthing centers try to keep their patients’ record systematically. In adoption of this system has become a major concern in the medical industry, as it is a key factor to the healthcare quality improvement

In this study, we hope to develop a system that will minimize all the paper works and manual records keeping, therefore allowing the staffs’ ease in keeping track of patient’s information, reducing patient’s waiting time and increasing the number of patients served. In addition, this will help in reducing inconsistency during billing transaction.

INTRODUCTION

St. Claire Birthing Center & Family Planning Services is a maternity ward that provides care for women during pregnancy and childbirth and as well as for new born infants.
