The guest model was exhumed by David Guest in 1987.His ambition about this hypothesis was to describe the human resource management concept. The thrust of this debate or discussion is to impregnant that the guest model can demonstrate that the discipline of human resource management is in a world of its own in terms of people management , whilst on the other hand the guest model can make and demonstrate that the discipline of human resource management is in a world of its own in terms of people management. In the validation of the however part there is also the fact to point out that all human resource management is explicitily defined as a philosophy of people management based on the belief that human resources are uniquely important to sustained business success. Human resource management aims at creating capable, flexible and committed people and rewarding their performance. Moreover , Armstrong (2009) analyse this concept and states that these models differs when it comes to the approaches made by the organisation and thus the difference that resumes the effects that demonstrate that the discipline of human resource management is in a world of its own in terms of people management when using the guest model.

The guest model comprises of various crucial components that makes it different from other models of human resource management. These include strategic integration which involves the ability of an organization to maintain a fit between the human resource management and the business management(Baron,1986). Hence the guest model is also engaged to the hard and soft approach of human resource management. Therefore the guest defines and demonstrates that the discipline of hrm is in a world of its own in terms of people management. This becomes the harder side of the guest model.
