There are many reasons as to why making bank deposits as soon as possible. Bank deposits for a physician’s office are made for the purpose of paying for any services rendered. These payments are made so the physicians are able to pay employees, pay for any supplies that have been ordered or received to allow the doctor the ability to care for the patient’s.

Also another good reason to make deposits as soon as possible is so that you are careful not to leave any cash around the office after hours. One never knows if the office is broken into late at night or if for some reason the building is damaged due to say a fire or natural disaster such as a flood. Having made the deposits as soon as the day is done ensures the office is able to continue serving the patient’s needs as well as paying for items that are needed to support the normal function of the office and the staff.

Another reason to make deposits as soon as possible is to know whether a check that a patient may have written is in good standing. Some people tend to write a check and they may not have the sufficient funds in their accounts to cover that particular check. If the check comes back and it is not good you must then contact the patient who wrote the check to make other payment arrangements in order to keep their account with the office in good standing.
