Your task: ‘Research’ provides information, evidence and expertise to inform views and assemble data. As a professional Engineer, you are required to ‘form a particular view’ based on the information you gather. As such, you need to identify types of information sources that provide robust information. For example, a text book is a good source because it provides detailed views on one particular topic; however the information in a book can date and become obsolete. Your task is to identify 3 other types of sources of engineering information and write a paragraph justifying why this type of source is valuable and potential shortfalls.
