1. Phase I: Preliminary Report (moved Pay Structure to Phase II): 60 points

Due: on or before April 18th

a. Identification of Major issues (25 points)

b. Outline of plans to correct these issues (20 points)

c. Weighting of problems/solutions selected (10 points)

d. Overall clarity, professionalism and presentation (5 points)

2. Phase II: Pay Structure: 80 points

Due: on or before April 28th

e. Develop a Pay Philosophy and explain (10 points)

f. Recommend a Pay Structure (40 points)

i. Assign pay grade, explain which jobs are in which range

ii. Assign salary ranges

g. Explanation of assumptions made in developing pay structure and why (e.g., what method you used to develop job grades and what data you used, how you aged the market data, etc.) (20 points)

h. Overall clarity, professionalism and presentation (10 points)

3. Phase III: Formal Written Presentation: 200 points

Due: on or before May 15th

i. Introduction (20 points)

j. Identification/analysis of major issues (30 points)

k. Range of solutions considered & why focused on them or discounted them (30 points)

l. Identification of side issues (30 points)

m. Proposed solutions (35 points)

n. Implementation plan for recommendations (25 points)

o. Overall organization, clarity, professionalism, internal consistency and writing (30 points)

4. Oral Presentation (Optional):* 25 extra credit points

Grading will be based on two things:

p. The quality of your analysis, solutions and recommendations (12.5 points)

q. The quality of your presentation (12.5 points)
