1. How is this divinity portrayed? Describe the divinity’s role within the myth.

This divinity is the great Olympian goddess of beauty, love, pleasure and procreation. She is responsible for the Trojan War and her adulterous affair with the god Ares. This divinity is the god of love and lust. He is also referred to as Manamatha. He is known as the most handsome among men and gods. He personified cosmic desire or the creative impulse.

2. Is the divinity male or female? What function does this gender play?

The divinity is a female that had a great deal of power that she used to her advantage. The divinity is a male and he had the power to confuse you whether you was in love or lust.

3. Within the myth of origin, how does this divinity compare with other divinities? How does this divinity interact with or compare to divinities of the same gender and to divinities of the opposite gender?

Aphrodite does not compare to other divinities because she is one of a kind. She had love for different male divinities and also had affairs. She also arose from the sea foam, that is where she was born. Kama is similar to the Greek god of love, Cupid. He has been identified with the principle of desire. Kama’s future wife was the goddess of love, her name is Parvati.

4. What are the divinity’s attributes, such as divine powers or characteristics? What objects does the divinity possess, such as a weapon or animal that assists him or her?

Aphrodite’s attributes include a dove, apple, scallop shell and mirror. She was very persuasive over love and whatever or whomever she wanted she usually got it.
