The purpose of this research paper is to fulfill my needs on answering some questions that I have about the Death Penalty. Like, if someone is convicted of murder, sentenced to death, then why does it take so long for them to be executed? I also am interested in other facts that go along with this, such as tax dollars being spent, the average time an inmate sits on death row and the public opinion on the death penalty. When I first started my research, I knew little to nothing about the Death Penalty and why it takes so long for them to carry out the sentence. I honestly didn’t give it much thought. Even though I never liked that fact that it took so long for inmates to be put to death, knowing my hard earned tax dollars and were being spent on them. So I had to ask the question why? Why did it take so long? Well, after some digging on “Death...
