1.Introduction

1.1 Romance

Romance, which is also called Romance X, was a french film conducted by Catherine Breillat in 1999. It stars Caroline Ducey, pornographic actor François Berléand, Sagamore Stévenin and Rocco Siffredi. The film features explicit copulation scenes, especially one showing Caroline Ducey's coitus with Rocco Siffredi. The film was rated R for language and strong sexual content including dialogue.

The story took place in modern France. Mary was a female primary school teachers, and she loved to her model boyfriend Paul, however, though Paul claimed that loved Mary, he would prefer to spend time reading books at the Japanese restaurant rather than to go home and have sex with Mary. Mary felt insulted and began a sexual adventure. She acquainted an Italian man who had a same name as Paul in the bar and had a one-night stand with him. Mary played masochism game with the school principal Robert, indulging in such kind of abused and bettered game. She was also mistaken by a drunk as a prostitute and raped in their corridor. After all, Paul finally accepted in the flesh of Mary and she was pregnant soon. However, Paul drunk all day when the birth day looming. Mary was accompanied with Robert to enter the hospital waiting to production, she unscrewed the gas switch before leaving home. Under the sight of Robert, Mary smoothly gave birth to a baby boy. Her home exploded in ruins, and Paul was killed in the manmade accident.

1.2 Sexual identity
