Obesity is defined as having an excessive amount of body fat, according to Mayo Clinic Staff (2013). It is the leading cause of many health problems according to surgeon general from Pollan (2013). It is causing turmoil in the lives of so many people because of so many factors that we do not consider thinking of because of our living habits, working status, and because a lot of people are too busy to take the time to prepare decent meals or live healthy lifestyles that involves doing exercises. Obesity can lead to many hospital visits that can cause people to have to take medicines and it can cause high medical bills, it is a leading cause of health problems such Type 2 diabetes to children’s, and it comes as a result of lack of exercise. As a result of adults and children not eating healthy on a day to day basis, not living healthy lifestyles, and not exercising, obesity is taking over our nation and causing many illnesses to people. We have to stop this epidemic and keep it from evolving so that our mortality rates will not keep growing due to this disease. Time is of the essence to many people because they do not have a lot of free time to commit to their personal health because he or she may be sole providers for their families or they may be trying to make a better life for themselves which may require much more of their time.
