Case study titled “My not to do list” gives insight on if looking for a career in life there are certain things that one must not do. With today’s technology there are so many individuals future already in ruin because of the things they post on the web. The song titled “Greatest Love of All” song by Whitney Houston has in its first verse, “I believe the children are our future”. This may be true for some but not for all. I say this because technology such as Facebook, YouTube, and Myspace are all publicly accessible website where recruiters and hiring manager’s use in helping them make decisions if they want to hire that individual.

People in today’s society are looking for attention and go about it the wrong way by posting derogatory videos, negative comments, and pictures of themselves on these website visible for all to see. These websites show individuals fighting, nudeness, obscene language, and sexual content which all fall under derogatory. There may be a time when individuals may decide to do the right thing later on in life not realizing their past will haunt and hurt them when trying to move forward.

I doubt that there is anyway of removing unwanted material from the web because it is shareable with friends. What a person place on the web is there for life. The best method of protecting your image when using the web is keeping your cyber profile squeaky clean for the rest of your life. This may be hard for some and easy for others. Share photos that are positive, write comments that are positive. My mother always told me “if you can’t say anything nice about a person, don’t say anything at all”. In addition I would add especially not in writing.

Face to face is the most effective and efficient way to communicate with each other. This way there is nothing in writing and can be hearsay and not provable in court.
