The Impact of HRM

To improve the management of human resources within a company it is important to look at all areas; pay and benefits, labor relations, recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance appraisal and feedback.

Through the week we have examined each area and I am going to focus on two areas and those are recruitment and selection and pay and benefits. Each member had great feedback regarding these areas such as; electronic pay system, having a performance feedback no matter if negative or positive, having a training class that is of adequate length, and to have team meetings to bring forward the updates for the company.

First let’s discuss pay and benefits, a great way to improve this area would be to make the pay days electronic. There would be no paper checks; this would save the company money and could be used to give pay raises or a better training program within the company.

Second let’s discuss the performance appraisal and feedback, a good way to improve this area would be to have meetings with the employees every 3 months. This would beneficial because it would be a way to bring updates to the employees while receiving feedback from the employees at the same time. Also having a performance feedback process would be important no matter if it is positive or negative because if an employee knows how well they are or are not performing then they will know where to improve.
