Strategic Philanthropy for Organizations

Strategic philanthropy is a powerful way for an organization to help society’s well-being by associating themselves with not for profit organizations or causes. A more detailed description of strategic philanthropy would be the practices where a business aligns charitable activities such as donations and volunteerism with a social issue or cause that supports their business objectives.

As I have said strategic philanthropy is based on the thought that organizations will benefit when they try to improve their communities. A strategic philanthropy program that is executed correctly would be designed to smoothly integrate the needs of both a charitable cause and the business. By doing so this would create a win-win situation for everyone. Strategic philanthropy can strengthen a business’s value. For businesses this is the fastest way to build a natural alignment among their stakeholders and to increase engagement. It also can provide a system for a business to develop its values around relevant issues, which can make a stronger relationship with their customers.

By businesses using strategic philanthropy it helps them to build a higher profile, which can bring more attention to the cause their business supports and their business itself. Which means when a business builds a strategic philanthropy program that integrates with their goals they can bring the entire weight of the business to bear on issues that are important to everyone. When doing so it provides the opportunity to communicate the goals and the results of the businesses program through communication channel.
