Analyse the impacts of at least two urban dynamics operating in a large city of the developed world.

Urban dynamics are things that are constantly changing, to increase in the urban environment and therefore creating a more diverse large city of the developed world. In urban or semi-urban areas, there are many urban dynamics operating in Sydney, processes such as suburbanisation, urban decay, urban renewal, urban consolidation and urban village have transformed Sydney from a small colony to a large urban city.

Suburbanisation refers to the continual development of housing in suburbs sprawling outwards from the outskirts of major cities. Railway lines have progressed outwards into edge cities, away from the centre of the city, this is a result of urban sprawl. This leads to residents and industry companies deciding to move away from the city to outer edge suburbs for example - Campbelltown, Parramatta etc. Young couples and families looking for affordable housing contribute to the process of suburbanisation. Suburban regions continued to grow as the motor car became a common place and major road networks developed, for example the M5 connects outer edge suburbs such as Liverpool and Campbelltown to travel to the inner cities. Suburbanisation is evident in the outer ring suburbs of Kellyville, Glenmore Park and the Central Coast which has resulted in the development of major suburban centres such as Parramatta, Penrith, Liverpool and Campbelltown.
