When looking at the legal and ethical issues concerning B2B and B2C websites, I believe anything ethical related relies on how the business shows itself to customers and other businesses. Therefore, I would display my smoothie and dessert company to be as professional as possible. Ethics are very important within B2B websites because they will give feedback for the opposing business. I think that B2C web sites are harder to set ethics because sometimes customers are hard to please no matter what. Customers want deals and the best customer service. With B2B, other businesses are looking at expertise and what their company can do better. My company is B2C but I would treat it as both B2B and B2C because I would want to impress them all.

When it comes to trusting anyone or anything online, trust no one. I don’t believe there is really anyone to be trusted when it comes to websites. Even the high secure sites are not one hundred percent safe when it comes to privacy and personal information. My smoothie and dessert business wouldn’t have anything to offer online but I would still make a website to allow viewing of the menu and locations. Therefore, I would be safe from potential identity thieves to a certain extinct. That’s not to say that my company would be copied and someone to portray to be a part of my company without actually being a part of it. However, I think without offering products online to sell, it will limit hackers to my site.

The laws to advertising online are very serious and can help a business if they read and abide by them. Some businesses seem to be lenient of these laws. One law states that advertising must tell the truth and not mislead customers. Also unfair or deceptive advertising is prohibited. Disclaimers and disclosures must be clear and conspicuous.
