CLASSMATE

I’m going to tell you about my classmate and friend. Her name is Jennifer Renae Vasquez. She was born in Tracy, California. She has an older sister and a younger brother. Her parents named the three of them so that they all have the same initials of JR. She says she has (MSC) middle child syndrome. I thought that was quite funny, because as she put it, “It’s only because I’m the middle child”. Presently, she is living at home with her mother and her two children. She has a son named Roman and a baby girl named Hazel. She plans to move back to Tracy after she finishes her schooling.

Her family is Catholic. In her hometown of Tracy, there is an elementary school named after her uncle and his best friend. The both of them went to Viet Nam, but unfortunately did not return home. The school is called Duncan-Russell Elementary School.

Jennifer already has a degree in Nursing Assistant. She says she didn’t care for that type of career. She is now going to Heald College. She decided she would like to someday start her own business. Like me she is going for her degree in Business Administration. Jennifer and I have all the same classes. We sort of gravitated together and became friends. We even did a presentation together in one of classes last quarter. Of course, we got 100 points each for that project.

Even though I’m a lot older then her, we have a lot in common. We are both very independent. I raised my children on my own. She is raising her children on her own. Like me she knows what she wants and speaks her mind. I like that most of all about her. We have become good friends. I’m hoping she feels the same.
