QUESTION 1
1. ROM (Read-only memory) is memory that can be read but not changed. RAM is the memory that stores data and instructions temporarily,; that is , while the computer is switched on.
2. Data can be presented in two main pain forms: hard copies and soft copies. A hard copy is a physical reproduction or representation of the data, such as a printed page or photograph. A soft copy is an electronic version of the data, such as a file. Soft copies can be transferred by a number of means, such as through email, USB drives or disk drives. They are easier to duplicate and edit than hard copies.
3. An input device is any hardware device that sends data to a computer. An output device, on the other hand, is any hardware device that receives or displays information from a computer. A mouse is an example of an input device and a monitor is an example of an output device.
4. Hard Disk is a storage device where the computer stores large amounts of data and instructions. Floppy disk reads data from and writes data to a floppy disk. Floppy disks can be used to store small amounts of information. They are removable and suitable for transferring data from one computer to another.
5. Hardware refers to the parts of a computer that you can see and touch. Software refers to the instructions, or programs, that tell the hardware what to do.
6. Computers are machines that perform tasks or calculations according to a set of instructions, or programs. Computers are found in businesses and establishments, such as stores, restaurant, banks, airports, and homes, where they are used to perform a large variety of functions.
