Problems

The first problem of poor planning on Carl Robin is that after recruiting staff members, he realizes a month later that they have not gone through the drug screening or completed their applications. ABC Inc. does not have proper procedures set in place to conduct all activities for new hires. The training room is booked for the entire month of June. ABC Inc. and Mr. Robins do not show good work ethic which makes hiring new employees a difficult task. If this continues, the company will lack hiring the number of employees needed to fill positions.

Proposed Solution

ABC Inc. should ensure that human resources, operations management, and the recruiting team are working together to have a successful new hire orientation. As a recently hired recruiter, Carl Robins should have a Sponsor to show him what the company expects and what the procedures are.

Organization and coordinating with local hospitals and/or clinics will help ABC Inc. staff know exactly what new employees have had a drug screening. Carl must take appropriate steps during the recruiting process to ensure all procedures are followed so that it will not make him or the company loose time or money. Also, if the space that they have scheduled for the yearly orientation, ABC Inc., should have another location as a backup.

Carl should learn how to put his work in order. Documents by the candidates and drug testing results are things that are required before candidates begin employment. He should have a list on each file to be sure that any details or documents are not missing from the candidates files. This will prevent a lot of confusion on his part.

A very important factor that should be taken into consideration by the company is that they come up with some type of computer system so that they can easily send the information out to candidates and the database could track the status of each...
