Obstacles to Success in Education | My Plan to Overcome This Obstacle |
1. Poor study skills and habits | I plan to study more and delegate more time towards completing the course |
2. Lack of time-management skills | I will create a calendar to remind me of all study times and assignment due dates. This will keep me from getting behind in one course because of having to study for another |
3. Lack of preparation for college-level work | For me, this usually comes from spending too much time socializing, playing games or sports. I plan to utilize my time wisely and prepare for all assignments and tests. |
4. Lack of motivation or purpose | I Frequently wait until the last minute before starting to study or begin major project (i.e., Procrastination.). I plan to change habits and self-motivate myself to complete all that has to be done. |
5. Fear of writing assignments | For me, it’s not really a fear. I randomly fail to use long blocks of time constructively and when sitting down to study, I’m usually too tired or listless to write or gather my thoughts. I plan to use time more wisely and do my writing when I’m more focused. |
6. Fear of college level math | Math is one of my strong subjects, so I have no fears of College math. |
7. Test taking anxieties | I hate taking tests. I get a feeling of panic while taking tests. I’m not sure why. I can know every answer on a test and still become over-whelmed. |
8. Unsure of computer skills | I’m a computer technician. My computer skills are the bomb…lol |
9. Previous attempts at learning were unsuccessful | I have 2 degrees. Usually I finish what I start. |
