Service Request SR-rm-022 Riordan Manufacturing
Riordan Manufacturing currently has a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that has been in place since 1992. Currently the HRIS is a part of Riordan’s financial systems package. Director of Operations, Hugh McCauley is interested in integrating the existing variety of HR tools into a single integrated application (Apollo group Inc., 2013). The scope of this project is to take advantage of, and implement a more sophisticated information system in the Human Resources department. This service request will identify the business requirements gathered from key stakeholders, and our team of developers will gather a project analysis and create a detailed system design to ensure the project is a success for Riordan.
Stakeholders
A stakeholder is an individual who is affected by or who can affect a project's outcome. Stakeholders shape projects in the early stages, ensuring resources are available to contribute to project success, and provide insight regarding the probable reaction to a project's outcome, which facilitates project adjustments when necessary to win organizational support. The roles of stakeholders change throughout a project life cycle. However, the willingness of stakeholders to perform the activities assigned to them during the project planning process greatly contributes to the success or failure of the project (Nordmeyer, 2013).
Business Requirements
Riordan’s current HRIS is focuses on pertinent information in regards to individual employees. The HRIS includes:
a.) Personal information (such as name, address, marital status, birth date, etc.)
b.) Pay rate
c.) Personal exemptions for tax purposes
d.) Hire date
e.) Seniority date (which is sometimes different than the hire date)
f.) Organizational information (department for budget purposes, manager's name, etc.)...
