Part 1:

Definition of Problem: This happened when I was working for Siebel System Inc in early 1992. Tom Siebel CEO of the Siebel Systems Inc, used to work for Oracle inc and sales executive and he was top sales person in north America. He got the idea of CRM (Customer Relation Management), which he explained to Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Inc. Larry did not like the idea of building brand new application, instead he want to include the CRM functionality in existing oracle application. Tom did not like that as he thought about CRM differently and he quit oracle and founded Siebel Systems Inc, which was a sensation in early and later 1990’s. I want to show how both people thinking differently about new product and why tom was successful in developing new product.
