Cross-Cultural communication and technology is so different that there are a lot of different things that can be done to have a better and a more productive communication between countries. When traveling for business to another country it is very important to know the background and details of the countries culture and beliefs. This way you do not offend their culture or beliefs. Using technology such as the Internet will allow you to research the cultures the most important dos and don’ts. Especially if you are a woman for example a lot of countries do not see men and woman as equals so you want to make anyone angry by maybe offering a handshake to a man before he offers one to you. I also found when I did research on other countries that you do not do certain things and not have the same expectations to the visitor. For example, in New Zealand it is customary for the guest to be on time and you do not complain they are late. However, at the same time this technology can destroy communication between with the other countries if the information is incorrect. Technology is also as good as the other country is up-to-date with their technology in business transactions are much easier than ever before. You can communicate through e-mail since the time difference is like day and night. Also you can make online payments these days too. Technology has forever changed the way we do business with other countries. The difficulties with technology and communication are that other countries have their own cultures and social interaction of different ways that each country may use their communication and technology together in a meaningful way. If technology is communicated the wrong way by using e-mails or using smart phones to text, and videoconferencing it is a must and e responsibility of the other countries to know each other’s...
