Subject: Benefits for creating a new position

Dalman,

I know you have been spending a lot of your time assisting the location managers. This has resulted in you not having sufficient time to explore the options for the expansion of Sandwich Blitz. I think we should consider creating a new position to coordinate with the location managers. The location managers from store number one and three have both shown a high level of managerial skill. I feel that the best option for the company is to internally promote the two location managers to the position of Directors.

This new position would be responsible for oversight of four location managers to help deal with the issues that the store managers are facing. By creating this new position, we will alleviate unneeded stress that our current store leadership faces having to spend a great deal of time on issues they are needing assistance with. By doing so you will have more time to focus on the expansion options of Sandwich Blitz. I believe this option will also help our business to grow and ease the stresses of our expansion.

These are my suggestions that I think will help you substantially, but I think it’s best if you make the final decision. If you do decide to create the new director position, we will of course need to fill the two location manager positions. This will also change our organizational chart, please see below. [pic]
