NSA and CIA Comparison and Contraction

NSA is the National Security Agency while CIA is Central Intelligence Agency in full. The two are America’s security agencies but are differently trained. NSA is specialized in security matters and CIA in intelligence aspects. Another security agency that the paper will not discuss is the FBI that is specialized in the subjects of law enforcement. Every agency has the area that is the focus particular. The agencies sometimes do cooperate to share information during the public’s need to solve certain issues. Every agency trains its staff in relation to field specialization. People who intend to be in these agencies attend the tier schools that are at the top. I will give insight to the differences and the similarities that there are in the two agencies of the American security. The article focuses on the agencies’ evolution effectiveness and efficiency. It will also show to an extent the roles they play and to what heads they are accountable of during their operations.

The NSA retains a low profile although it has occasionally been in the news for recent events of spying on American citizens. Although they claim to focus on foreign entities only, it has been associated in domestic investigations, hence bringing questions over privacy matters. For example, it was realized that after the Nixon Administration, the NSA conducted a number of wiretaps of the targeted Americans. New York Times reported in 2005 that the NSA attempted to thwart terror attacks by tapping communication outside the state without a warrant. NSA has expanded its operations even to private organizations in an effort to prevent attacks. Some CIA operations are public; such is the unaccomplished trial to invade and overthrow Cuba’s President. Another is the poisoning effort the Congo’s Prime Minister.
