Learning teams are a group of diverse individuals working together to reach a goal. While working in diverse groups you will find different personalities. Some team members can be persistent in getting their assignments done while others can be procrastinators. Working in diverse group can cause conflict amongst the members. Webster online dictionary defines conflict as “A state of opposition between persons or ideas or interests.” (www.websters-online-dictionary.org) In this essay you will learn the different personalities that are in this group.
Learning Styles
There are three different types of learning styles in this group, visual learner, auditory learner and note taker. Elaine takes on the role as the note taker. Because Elaine is a note taker, the group decided to take notes from our conversations and email them to Elaine. This allows Elaine to look at the notes, compare them and learn her team members for the assignment. For example, the team had a meeting via telephone, the group talked about them selves to give the group a general idea on their personality. The group took notes and emailed them to Elaine. Shaquanna takes on the role as the auditory learner. In order to communicate effectively for Shaquanna the group sets specific times and date to communicate via telephone. This allows her to digest everything she heard and use it for the assignment.
Sondra takes on the role as the visual learner. She has to see thing in order to learn. For effective communication the group decided to post everything that was said in the meeting in the learning Team B forum. Sondra can always reference back to the learning team forum for clarification. Although all individuals have different ways of learning, team B created a way for communication to be effective.
