SWOT Analysis is a planning tool used to understand the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a project or in a business. It involves specifying the objective of the business or project and identifying the internal and external factors that are supportive or unfavorable to achieving that objective. SWOT is often used as part of a strategic planning process. SWOT is an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.

A SWOT analysis is a subjective assessment of data which is organized by the SWOT format into a logical order that helps understanding, presentation, discussion and decision-making. The four dimensions are a useful extension of a basic two heading list of pro's and con's. SWOT analysis can be used for all sorts of decision-making, and the SWOT template enables proactive thinking, rather than relying on habitual or instinctive reactions.

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) is the 30th public university of Bangladesh established in Mirpur, Dhaka in 2008, to run all educational institutions of the army, navy and air force and facilitate professional degrees for armed forces personnel as well as civilians through its affiliated institutions. There are 9 institutions (formerly run by Bangladesh Military) which are affiliated with BUP. These institutions include National Defence College, Defence Services Command and Staff College, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP), Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI), Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA), Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) and Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA). These were earlier affiliated with University of Dhaka, University, Chittagong University and Bangladesh National University will now be affiliated with the BUP.
