In this paper you will be given some insight on the chronic disease known as Arthritis. Also there will be a full description of the disease included with the risk factors that are associated with the chronic disease Arthritis. In conclusion of this paper you also will be given a description of the lifestyle choices that are associated with the disease, and different choices that you can make in your life to decrease you modifiable risk factors that is associated with the chronic disease Arthritis.

There is several different description of the chronic disease Arthritis. The word arthritis comes from the Greek word Arthron meaning “joint” and the Latin it is meaning “inflammation” (Medical News Today, 2013). Arthritis is a chronic disease that affects the musculoskeletal system that basically specifies the joints. Arthritis is not a single disease it is a common disease that generally affects elderly patients. There are some forms of arthritis that can be affect people at a very early age. Arthritis is basically a joint where one bone move on another bone, and something has went wrong in the joint is what causes it. There ligaments in your leg holds the bones together and they are like elastic bands, they keep the bones in place son your muscles can relax or contract to make the joint move. Arthritis is caused by several factors working together. Here are some factors that can contribute toward a higher arthritis risk:

* Genetic makeup

* Physically demanding job, especially one with repetitive movements

* Previous injury

* Obesity, which places an extra strain on joints

* Arthritis also can be caused by autoimmune disease

Research shows that there are over 100 different types of Arthritis, but there are only a few that are common ones. They are Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid, and Infectious arthritis are the mostly common ones today.
