The first error that may occur is failing to account for employees’ ability to learn safe machine operation methods by experimenting on their own with ways to speed up production and thereby reduce the effort they are required to use. The problem with the viewpoint is the all employees’ need to be monitored by another employee or vendor has the proper skills and training on a new type of machinery. Failure to do so may result in the being liable for any injuries to employees who did not receive adequate training. Safety is known as the company badge of honor, which does not allow being injured to be a normal practice. Production is not as big of an issue as safety. So once the employee is fully trained to be safe on the equipment, the production will follow.

The second error is putting all employees through the same orientation program regardless of differences in cultural interpretations of organizational hierarchies and thereby missing the potential for conflict among employees and between employees and management caused by different expectations of roles. There is a limited amount of items that may affect the same employees in orientation within the organization. When you try to put all employees through the same orientation you will lose some on their interest or have some complaints on how the orientation does not relate to them. There are a variety of levels of employment in any organization.

Another error to look into is disciplining one employee, expecting a modest change in that employee’s behavior but getting a massive union response. As a union employee the union that is in charge of the employees would have to get a informal or formal documentation. If the union decides to use the documentation. Information to discipline the employee, the discipline cannot be appealed.
