Decision Making Process

To most people that are used to defying authority, management is not necessary. We all know that without management, business would not be what it is today. Management is necessary in any business. The survival of the company depends on it. You need management to plan, organize, lead, and control every aspect of a business. These are the four fundamentals of any successful business. Without successful management any company will fail, it is just a matter of time. After successfully managing my brother-in-law’s business for about five years, I knew I had to make a decision to start my own business. I decided to take a management position for the company that my brother-in-law was sub-contracting for. Before this move happened, I decided to invest in what would eventually provide the startup capital for my future business. So I decided to buy a home. This was the time when the home buying boom was almost at its end. I purchased a home for $230,000. I continued to work in my new management position for about a year and a half. Along the way I was making business contacts that I would use after starting my business. After a year and a half, I decided that it was time to start my business. I put my home on the market and sold it three weeks later for $410,000. I had my startup capital and decided to go into a partnership with a close friend. We each invested $50,000 into our new business. We successfully operated our business for six years. After six years of twenty four seven days, I decided to sell my part of the business to my partner. I needed to finish my education and running my own business did not leave me any extra time. I have been working for my current employer for the past two years and have been attending school for a little over a year now.
