Children patients with AIDS

AIDS is a short word for acquired immune deficiency syndrome, also when a child is diagnosed with AIDS the primary physician can come to a conclusion on how the child attained the disease is passed from mother to baby during pregnancy, labor and delivery and when the mother is breast feeding her baby, also when the mother is affected with the disease.

The children can also get aids by sources such as blood transfusion, drug abuse by utilizing dirty needles or shared needles with a drug addict, sexual activity without using a condom, sexual abuse or rape and poverty plays a major role that would lead to children getting affected with AIDS.

The targeted population of children patients with Aids is mostly based on family in foreign countries that have lack of knowledge on sexually transmitted disease. Countries such as Africa, Nigeria, Kanya, South Africa, Latin American, Asia, The Caribbean and Uganda, also the targeted population will range from sex workers, orphans with vulnerable children, women and girls and young women and young men.

The data about the population demographics with children patients with aids had a major increase from 8 million in 1990 to 34 million by the last part of 2011 (Avert 1986-2014). The data also includes the growth of Aids in the current years and the yearly number of HIV affected people decline because of the amount of people who did receive the antiretroviral treatment, also in recent study the number of Aids-related death has also declined in today’s society.
