Introduction

The reason of this project is to construct a time capsule that will be discovered 100 years in the future. This is for the reason of supplying a general idea of what future generations are supposed to remember about the 20th and 21st centuries. This will include an opening letter about my daily activities, an example of morality, a definition of happiness, and several items that should be preserved for the future, for example; a literary work, an example of art and architecture, a song, a film, and an item from popular culture.

Item 1: Letter of Introduction

This letter is being written on January 12, 2014. My name is Linda Goethe. I am 45 years old, and I was born May 10, 1968. I am a single mother of three children. I have a 27 year old son, named Patrick, and I have a 23 year old, daughter, named Nicole and a 20 year old daughter, named Crystal. I also have a grandson that was born November 1, 2013. I currently attend Kaplan University where I am pursing my Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting so that I can better myself and obtain a better job to support my family. We celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and birthdays every year. Christmas, we buy a pine tree to decorate with ornaments and wrap presents that we put under tree to exchange with loved ones. Birthdays are celebrated with cake, ice cream, and gifts as well. Easter has two meanings. The first and most important is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The second is the Easter bunny, which we hide decorated eggs full of candy to find in the egg hunt. My present time is during a recession where jobs are scarce and appreciated. Also, the first black president of the United States was elected. My dream for the future is that our country will recover from this poverty state and jobs will be replenished....
