SWOT Analysis of Nokia
Strength
* Largest distributor of mobile phone in the mobile phone industry.
* Highly qualified personnel.
* User friendly with many accessories.
* High- resale value compared to other brands of mobile phones.
Weakness
* No promotion undertaken to target the lower class of the society.
* Poor after sales service- very few service centres.
Opportunity
* Opportunities to expand with a wide range of products, features and different price range to suit different people.
Threats
* Maintain the position as the Market Leader because Apple, Sony, Cannon, Motorola, Samsung, iPhone, Blackberry and Android smart phones have come of the standard tough competition with Nokia.
* Cheap phones, advance features and good after sales service.
The dilemma/problem that they challenges faced
Nokia came up with their targets to get back what they have lost. However, according to a report yesterday, Nokia has abandoned those hopes of meeting key targets just, raising questions over whether its new boss, Stephen Elop, a former Microsoft employee can do what he said he was going to do. Its shares went down by 18 percent to its lowest in 13 years; further reducing $5.5 billion off its market value. Google’s Android devices and Apple’s iPhone are going much forward...
