Different between two cultures

Introduction

In Sabah, there are many people of different races and religions. Each has its own traditions. There are differences in customs, belief systems, food, value and social economic order status. I'm just going to take two races Suluk (Sulu) or normally in Sabah they called Tausug and the Bajau people. Suluk were initially derived from the neighboring island of Jolo. but they migrated to Sabah before Malaysia Independence. Same as Bajau.

History tells that Bajau came from many countries such as Indonesia and Filipina .Sulu and the Bajau people migrate using the sea route and stayed in the waters of Sabah as Lahad Datu, Tawau, Semporna and Kudat. These places usually occupied by people in Sulu and the Bajau ethnic. Since time immemorial, the Sulu said to be located on land and at sea Bajau community.

The term of tausug was derived from two word tau and sug (or suluk in Malaysia) meaning "people of the current". There is another definition of Tausug, tau which means man and sug means lands. Bajau laut also spelled Badjau, or Bajaw. Bajau divided into many sub-groups there are Bajau ubian, Bajau Simunul, Bajau Suluk, Bajau Palau and many more.

The exact origin of the word "Bajau" is unclear. It is generally accepted that these groups of people can be termed Bajau, though they never call themselves Bajau. Instead, they call themselves with the names of their tribes, usually the place they live or place of origin. They accept the term Bajau because they realize that they share some vocabulary and general genetic characteristic.

My grandfather recalled that in the past before the Tausug and Bajau migrate they live in Jolo. Tausug people are said to be located on land and at sea Bajau.
