Mission Statement:
The mission of Black Water Middle School which is a diverse student-centered learning community, “is to guarantee that all students are fully prepared, successful contributors in a rapidly changing, global society through relevant, rigorous, standards-driven, personalized learning provided in a safe, nurturing environment.” This mission is created to ensure that all students who attend this school will be high school and college ready. There are certain beliefs and core values at this school that were created, so that all that are involved with Black Water Middle School will understand the importance of educating children and ensuring their success
in a global changing society. According to the vision of the school their beliefs are: We believe that all children have a right to learn, all children deserve an education for empowerment and freedom, we believe that all children can learn given the appropriate time, environment and resources, that all teachers can and must teach all children effectively, and that the future of South Carolina depends in large part on the effectiveness of schools.
Black Water Middle School has set high standards in order for them to believe in their mission statement that all students will receive a high quality education. To accomplish this goal they have core values that teachers must follow at Black Water Middle School to make their vision possible. Teachers must put service to students above all else, take responsibility for the success of all students, care passionately about our work with children, build strong positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community, and model and promote civility and integrity. This vision of the school cannot be accomplished without all stakeholders taking an active role in making sure that these things values are accomplished.
