COURSE DESCRIPTION: Presentation, analysis and interpretation of accounting data for use in planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling business activities.
II. Objectives of the MBA Program
Eastern's Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to prepare individuals for responsible managerial positions in an increasingly complex business environment. Degree emphasis is placed on the development of managerial generalists rather than specialists and requires study in all major functional areas of business.
III. Course Goals
Gaining factual knowledge
Gain an understanding of terminology, concepts, procedures, relationships, trends, circumstances, and the nature of accounting principles and procedures.
Learning fundamental principles, generalizations, and theories.
Learn to apply course material to improve thinking, problem solving, and decisions.
IV. Course Objectives
* Identify the components of financial reports
* Explore the assumptions and concepts utilized to prepare financial reports
* Explain the difference in reporting between IFRS and US GAAP
* Utilize modeling and data analysis to support business decisions
* Analyze financial reports for decision making
* Discuss the economic role of financial statements
