CRITICISM
Man is a part of an intricate web of life. This world consists of different types of people consuming different attributes, opinions and specialties. One can find a gesture complimentary while the other might find that offensive, one might give up too easy while another one would just keep on experiencing failures but still wouldn’t slower his pace.
Criticism is one of the many human behaviors which if simply put, is a judgment made by a person regarding another particular person. And this very judgment is not always taken as a positive remark by people. People simply take criticism as an offensive way of their mistakes or shortcomings being pointed out.
However, people do have to deal with criticism at some point or other. Whether they like it or not but they have to confront it because people have different interests, needs, requirements, and values which might clash. I believe criticism is an effective way to determine the faults and bring out the best in oneself. But not all people believe that criticism is a good thing and so they give a comeback full of contempt or try to avoid getting any such situation altogether.
Well, criticism is valuable and necessary if seen with a different angle. Valuable new ideas, perspectives and actions can be generated through a critical dialogue. It draws a considerable amount of attention to different aspects of a certain issue which might otherwise be overlooked. In other words a criticism from someone can fill a person with good ideas to unlock new opportunities that didn’t exist before. It is because of this clash of ideas for which our lives are actually not boring.
But people can also be very hurt by criticism when they experience it as a personal attack. A criticism should be taken in a wrong way only if it is badly expressed. And hence one should keep the amount of criticism within bounds, to a tolerable level one can handle.
