Gene One is a small company that has quickly become a prestigious player in the dynamic field of bio technology. Despite recent market concerns regarding scandals in the field of bio tech, Gene One’s successful research and products have impacted agriculture in a positive way and are quickly becoming a global phenomenon. The young, thriving company is seeking to diversify their equity base and have access to capital for further research and development. The company does not lack exposure and prestige however the cheaper access to capital would aid in its goals to produce, package, and market a broader range of products. As Gene One moves toward the end goal of an initial public offering its young executive team is introspectively considering structure and strategy to provide due diligence and the disclosure that

will be prerequisite. To succeed in implementing the IPO project at Gene One, a thorough analysis of each executive team member’s role and characteristics must be completed. Gene One must also determine the leadership structure and styles that would best guide the future of this company and determine its end vision.

Analyzing each of the executive team members helps the business see what they have to work with and motivates them to go forward with excellent ideas on how to create a successful organization. Don Ruiz is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gene One and invested two million dollars of his own money in starting the company. He is very supportive of his team and has a passion for leading (University of Phoenix, n.d.). Because Don has invested in this company, his leadership is on a professional and personal level. Don sets very high-performance standards for himself and his employees. Michelle Houghton is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who has invested everything she has into Gene One.
