Thesis Statement
The modern churches today have the fingerprints of Luther’s theology in it and we need to understand the reasons so we don’t repeat the errors from Luther’s time?
The Need for the Study
The modern church has little idea of the foundations that were laid by the reformation as we see mega churches and denominational churches teaching easy listening sermons that won’t change life’s toward Jesus, but comfort and bring people to proclaim the name of the church they attend. If we as pastor learn the intent of reformation and the need to be self aware of what we do and why, then we can avoid having to have reformation a need in the body of Christ. We need to be sure we are teaching the inerrant word of God (all of it), our programs are more than just money makers, and we are providing people the ability to line up to the truth as presented in God’s word.
The procedure of the study
Using the online library and reading material provided for the class, study the times during the Protestant Reformation and the modern church. We need to study;
The state of the church
Martin Luther’s Justification to speak out
Scriptural authority for Martin Luther
Martin Luther’s Theses
The reformation
The Protestant reformation
The German reformation
Reflections into the Modern Church
